He CAN be sweet!

Eli can be such a handful for me sometimes. Especially lately it seems he has really been testing my patience. But last night the kid totally redeemed himself, and made me realize he can be a sweetheart sometimes.

Eli's great-grandparents gave him a little two wheeler but the tires needed to be fixed. We finally got it fixed the other day, and now all he wants to do is ride his new bike. He talks about it all the time and just loves it. So we clear the cars out of the garage and he just rides circles for extended periods of time, 9because it is so darn cold he can't actually ride it outside).

Well, last night we went out to dinner and then to Ross. Of course while we were out he kept saying when we got home he wanted to ride his bike. (He actually calls it a bicycle, because the grandparents that gave it to him call it that and so he is convinced it is a bicycle, not a bike). While we were out and about I started to get a migraine (again!) so we come home and I go straight to my room and lie down. Eli goes out and rides his bike, while Ryan takes care of Hallie. A couple minutes later Eli comes in my room. I say, "Hey bud, why aren't you out riding your bike?" HeIMG_1302 says, "Because I just want to come in here and lay by you so you will feel better".So of course, I jump on the chance to snuggle the cute little kid, because he never lets me snuggle him. And I felt so good knowing that he chose me over his beloved bicycle. Mom-1 Bicycle-0. YES!

As we are laying there he is being so good, and not very wiggly (amazing!) and I ask him what he is thinking about. He says, "I am just thinking about how much funner it will be when you don't have a migraine anymore. Then he says, "And it makes me sad when you are sick".Awww. What a sweet little boy. He does care about his mom. He made my whole night.

Ohhhh, what a sweetheart! They can be pains, huh, and then they can be sooo sweet. Ashlyn has been a pain and testing us for the past month now. Ugh.
Hey, are you guys going to be home the weekend of May 22-23rd? Matt's going to get Lasik at the Moran Eye Center, so maybe we could stay the night there and visit! I was going to email you this, but it won't let me compose a new message for some reason right now. Anyways, email me back!

Sometimes there is nothing else that will make you feel more loved than a simple loving sentence from your son. I think it's because they are so rare, they always catch you off-guard.

Eli is so sweet! I love it when kids will cuddle, especially when they know you need it. And I'm so sorry about your migraines! That is awful. I hope you quit having them soon. Let me know if you need anything. I would LOVE to have your kids come and play if you need to rest. The only way I can get rid of migraines is to fall into a deep sleep, and that is not easy with kids around!

Eli really is such a sweet boy. It's true those small & simple kind words do seem to erase all the not so good behavior. He will need to bring his bike(opps Bicycle) over and ride with the boys. I hope you feel better, call me if you need me to come watch your kids, not kidding!

What a sweet story. I just love little ones. I am so glad he wanted to take care of you instead of ride his bike. Hope you get feeling better.

I'm SO sorry you are having migraines....I never had them until I was pregnant (A-ha! Maybe that's why you are having them....j/k!), and still I usually just get them when I am pregnant, but when I do it is horrible! UGGH! Please let me know if you need anything. LOVE the Eli story....All they have to do is that one thing, huh? It was SO SO fun to see you the other night! Aaron and I both commented how great it was to just visit and catch up a little with you guys! We'll have to plan more times to run into each other like that again! Cafe Rio anytime! Hope you keep feeling better Lessley....

So cute. I love it when your kids let you know that they love you. I hope that you are getting past the migranes. They are so painful & they really knock you out.

Isn't it crazy how perceptive kids can be. The other day, I wasn't feeling so well and Ellie went and got me a stuffed animal and a dollar to make me feel better.

I'm sorry you get migraines!! I love that he calls it a bicycle.
