Eating is a waste unless its Ryan's Alfredo

I am not a big food person. I don't like to eat, and think it is a total waste of time. I think of all the time in a day spent thinking about what food eat, making food, eating food or feeding your children food, and cleaning up food. When all is said and done I swear half your day was a slave to something that had to do with food. (and I don't even make the food). That's the day to day food issues. We won't even go into the time you waste eating when you are on vacation. You could totally pack so much more fun in a short vacation if you didn't have to spend time deciding where to eat, waiting for your food, and then eating the food..

Don't get me wrong I enjoying going out to eat, if it is the event. I love going out to eat with Ryan when on a date, and going out to eat with friends is always fun. But that's because that is my plan for the day/night. I don't have to stop what I am doing to eat  and I don't have to clean it up.

With all that said, I have to say one of the times I really look forward to eating is the night I know Ryan is going to make his Broccoli Alfredo. I  love Alfredo and I have never eaten anywhere that has Alfredo that tastes as good as his. It is my FAVORITE. I seriously think I could eat it everyday. It is so rich and creamy. My butt and thighs aren't too fond of it, but who cares it tastes delicious!  Then you throw in his breadsticks, and it is my heaven. I can't get enough. I am actually quite sad right now, because tonight for dinner I just finished off the leftovers. That means starting tomorrow I will again dread all the time it takes out of my schedule to eat food.

Soooo that's why you're so skinny. I wish I felt like eating was a waste too, then I would look like you.

I'm gonna have to try his alfredo and breadsticks, because that is one of my FAVORITE things to eat. :) Don't you just hate it when the good leftovers are gone. LOL!

My butt and thighs would love me if I shared your views on eating. However, as you know I am a product of two distinct family lines that both embrace and possibly even worship food. It's constantly on my mind. A waste of time? I can definitely see that. But like most vices I have, makes me sooo happy.

I've pretty much accepted that my world revolves around food. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have to plan, prepare, help 40 people eat, then clean up after 40 people. And by 40, I mean 4. I might actually accomplish something!

Tell Ryan he needs to share his recipes! I really need a good breadstick recipe.

Hmm, I need the recipe. Okay well NEED isn't the right word, but sounds way yummy. I wish I had your attitude. I'm all too willing to take time out of my life to eat...and it shows.

I am in agreement with those that love food too much! I agree with you about breakfast, though. I've never cared for that meal. I'd be just fine waiting until afternoon to start thinking about food....Of course my kids don't like that idea! I'm going to go check out Ryan's recipe (so I can give it to Aaron to make) j/k! (maybe....)

On a related note, does anyone wonder how people found recipes before the Internet?

Let's say it's 1988, and you're the family cook, and you think, "Hmm. You know what would be good for dinner? Creamy Broccoli Soup."

The problem is, if you didn't have a recipe for it, you were stuck calling one of those women from relief society who have been cooking since age 3 and seem to have a recipe for everything (but likely pretty bland), and wear those pioneer looking dresses (even to play volleyball), and use one of those giant barrettes (or worse, bows) in their hair, and you had to hope they happened to have one and wouldn't judge you as a bad mother for not knowing the recipe by heart. Or, you went to the bookstore and bought a recipe book.

These days, a quick Google finds you a recipe for literally any dish in the world. As a test, just Google something like "Fried Octopus Recipe." I bet you get over 1,000 results.

I am the total opposite about food. I love it. I wish I was more like you though. Like everyone else, I would love the recipe.
