Babies Babies Babies

I have so many friends and family who are expecting right now. I swear there is something in the air. And all but one, who know what they are having are having girls. It is defenitely girl season.

Anyway the first of those many people had her baby yesterday. And oh she is the cutest little thing. I held her for almost an hour and it was defenitely NOT long enough! I love, love, love newborn babies. It is my absolute favorite stage. They are just so precious and sweet and snuggly (although niether of mine were snuggly. Totally not fair). Holding this cute baby girl made me a little baby hungry. Just a little. Then I came home to my kids and remembered they don't stay cute, little, and sweet very long!
Isn't she adorable?

A jumping date with Eli

Yesterday morning Eli and I had a little date. Just the two of us, and boy was it fun. In fact I think it might have been one of the best dates I have been on in awhile. (hint hint, Ryan) :)

We went to the local Jump On It! It was so much fun. We were crazy jumping machines. It was such a blast to just be totally crazy. Eli had so much fun. I can't remember the last time he had so much fun just playing. I am sure the fact that I was there giving him 110% of my attention didn't hurt.

I think we are going to make this a permanent Wednesday activity. Anyone that would like to join us is welcome. We would love to have more jumping buddies.

A breakfast conversation with Eli...

Eli: Mom, do you have a baby in your tummy?

Me: Um. NO!

Eli: When are you going to have a baby in your tummy?

Me: Not for a long time. Why?

Eli: Because I want to have another baby.

Me: Why do you want another baby?

Eli: Because I want lots of babies. Like 5 brothers and 6 sisters.

Me: Good luck with that.

Our little beauty salon

Tonight Eli came out of the backroom and tod me that he had done Hallie's hair. And sure enough Hallie came tagging in behind him. Her hair was soaking wet, "combed", with the touch of a  headband.  Eli was very proud of himself and told me that "she didn't even move a bit" while he was doing her hair.

Eli's first hair styling attempt.

Then he asked Ryan if he could do his hair. Ryan agreed. Hallie also decided that she needed to get in on the action. Both Hallie and Eli sat and styled Ryan's hair for a good 20 minutes. What funny kids.

First you spray it.

Then you comb it.

Then you put in some mousse.

Add the final touch. Spike it into a mohawk.

Then of course Eli had to do his hair.
